iv been up for 44 hours or so now. and im not tired anymore. i cant sleep. i just cleaned my room a little. put all my clothes away at least. i didnt sleep last night because i was writing a film analysis on garden state. i think i did well.

got a joy division album today. im really blown away by the depth of their minimalistic approach to music.

i decided to bust out my lava lamp again. its next to my computer now. its not "lava-ing" yet...the coil is out of place, and the lava hardened in such a way to make it not sit down. we'll leave it on for the night.

i had a fun time getting coffee with andrea today between my classes. we played chess like we used to. i got her to laugh for almost 4 minutes straight without the capacity to stop. it was great to laugh with her.

tonight at work sucked because for about an hour, the grill was not allowed to be on....a fan stopped working and it filled the kitchen with smoke. they had to shut everything down because of it. i lost a lot of money as a result, and still got home at midnight. tonight sucked. i have a good feeling, however, that work tomorrow will be completely fantastic. haha

i think starting this week, im going to start asking new people to hang out, or seek out old haunts. there's a guy in my history class named dennis lamb. he was in a few halpern classes i had back in the day, and he NEVER spoke. and how he's different for some reason. i dunno. he's really cool. speaks FLUENT german. i envy him. mike from tripps and i might hang out more, sans whole tripps crew. we were talking about going to his beach house. justin (aka noidroid) and i need to play more poker together. i want to sit on a concrete patio and smoke cigarettes with amy. i need to get a hold of ivan. meckola and i havent made a pot of coffee in ages. i really want the new girl at tripps, christine, to come to a beer pong party at my place (we need to have another soon). she seems like she can use a few friends around here. i want to go over to matt, evan and ians and smoke the hookah and watch a movie. i want to go to a bar with ol' zack ellzey. i want to give chantell an ear that'll finally listen to her, and a shoulder to cry on. i want to go to global village with andrea at least once a week. i want to go and visit snewf in rocky mount. i want to go visit jodi in greenville. i wish liz would visit me. i want the fabulous nickie burns to come back from california so we can go to moe's again. i'll go back to rockingham county to see family if it means ashley coe is still around up there. i must go visit stuckey. i need to save up to go visit julia.
despite it all, i like that ive been alone these past couple weeks. and maybe i wont start all these missions this week...or next. i feel like taking it easy.

quick aside, the lava is finally kinda melting...it wont be long now. looks like an alien fetus.


i got the new white stripes album the other day. at first listen, i was unimpressed. the music didnt move me. then i was talking to liz about it and she shared why she loved it. i was thankful for this testimonial because it gave me the idea to look at the album from a different perspective. i focused on the performance of jack white. from there i started to notice something - he's a damn good singer. not only can he hit notes, but the style in which he does it...a deep south, cajun flavor. his timing is flawless. nothing else out there is like this album. i suggest you get it.

thats it for now. i am going to force myself to sleep. i do want to stay that i feel like staying up all night.
